Why your donation matters
Bee populations across California have declined dramatically over the past two decades. Habitat loss, pesticide exposure, climate stress, and disease pressure are hitting pollinators all at once — and the ripple effects reach every plate of food grown in the Central Valley. Almond orchards, stone fruit, berries, squash, melons, and countless wildflower species all depend on healthy bee populations to reproduce.
The Bee Conservatory exists to reverse that trend, one rescued colony and one restored acre at a time. Your donation funds real, measurable work in the Greater Sacramento region. Every dollar goes directly to bee rescue and relocation, native habitat restoration, community education, and local pesticide reform advocacy.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and because we process gifts through Zeffy, zero platform fees are deducted from your contribution. One hundred percent of what you give funds the mission — not payment processors, not overhead, not executive bonuses. Every gift, no matter the size, directly helps bees and the people who depend on them.
Bee Rescue & Relocation
Our free removal team responds to swarm and colony calls across Sacramento County, safely relocating bees instead of letting them be exterminated.
Habitat Restoration
We plant and maintain native pollinator corridors on public land, schools, farms, and private properties throughout the region.
Community Education
We run free school visits, workshops, and field days teaching kids and adults how to identify, protect, and coexist with bees.
Research & Advocacy
We track colony health data and push for stronger state-level pesticide regulation to protect pollinators long-term.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my donation tax-deductible?
- Yes. The Bee Conservatory is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and all donations are fully tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive an email receipt from Zeffy immediately after your gift that you can use for your tax records.
- Can I set up a recurring donation?
- Yes — monthly recurring gifts are the single best way to support our work, because they let us plan rescue operations and habitat projects months in advance. You can choose monthly, quarterly, or annual recurring gifts directly in the donation form above.
- Does my employer offer donation matching?
- Many California employers match charitable gifts to registered nonprofits, often doubling or tripling your donation. Check with your HR department, and if your employer needs our EIN or 501(c)(3) verification letter, email us at info@thebeeconservatory.com and we will send it the same day.
- Where can I see how you spend donations?
- We publish an annual impact report breaking down exactly where donations are spent, how many colonies were rescued, how many acres were restored, and how many students were reached. You can view the latest report on our Impact page.
- Can I donate something other than money?
- Absolutely. We accept donations of native plants, pollinator-safe tools, beekeeping equipment, and volunteer time. We also accept stock gifts and planned giving. Contact us directly to coordinate any in-kind or non-cash donation.
